Hi ladies,
I am now 21 weeks pregnant and wanted to share my story. I have wanted to be a Mum for years but my husband has never really been ready. Even now I’m 36 and he’s 37 and he still doesn’t think it’s the right time. However I know him and I know that he’s just terrified of failure, I also know that he will be a fantastic father.
So I made the decision to come off the pill (femodene) in Oct 15. My cycles were very long and irregular to begin with. I starting taking Vit B6 200mg which really helped, and after about 8 months they started to regulate to about 30 days.
My husband was aware of my decision to come off the pill and for the first 12 months we used the pull out method but I was always secretly hoping for a BFP. Oct 16 came around, we moved into a new house and although we never had the baby conversation, he just stopped pulling out. This is when I started really trying (although he was completely unaware of my efforts).
I started taking - Vitex 1000mg first thing in the morning, Royal jelly, pregnacare conception, evening primrose (just until confirmation of ovulation), ubiquinol (due to age)
I also continued temping and charting which I had be doing since coming off of the pill. This helped me massively to understand my cycles.
We were timing things perfectly but 6 months later and still no joy. So in April 17 I added baby aspirin. Another issue that popped into my head was that when I have a smear test done the nurse always struggles to find my cervix. It’s anterior and very far back.
I had read that trying doggy style may help you conceive if this is the case. Well anyway it worked 1st time and I received my first BFP in May! Yay! Unfortunately my excitement was short lived as I started bleeding a few days later.
I felt positive though that I could get pregnant, and was keen to try again straight away. So we did exactly the same the next month and voila BFP again! So I’m putting the majority of my success purely down to the position although I do think the vitamins helped to prepare my body.
Anyway the important DPO-
As I have been trying for a while I literally experienced every symptom possible in my 2 week wait. The only thing that was different for me in both BFP cycles was heart palpitations. I also had IB at 8DPO. All my other symptoms were the same (sore nipples straight after O, creamy Cm, nausea,)
So I’m now 21 weeks and feeling good. I want to wish you all good luck in your journeys to motherhood. Sorry it’s such a long post. Thanks for reading xx
