I'm 29, DH 31. I posted on here two years ago when I conceived DS. I feel so very blessed to be pregnant again! It took 6 months to get pregnant with DS; I was convinced that it just took my body a while to get back to normal after being on BC for 6 years straight. I did not go on BC after having DS for this very reason, I did not want anything to hinder our chances when we were ready for #2. Because of this I thought it would happen right away this time around. Well...four months later we got a BFP. I always hear about women that get a BFP first cycle trying or women that need fertility drugs to conceive, it seems I don't hear a lot of the in between. I'm just average I guess.
I temp'd, used OPKs, preseed and drank grapefruit juice. I swear the grapefruit juice helps. I drank it the month before and the month of conceiving DS. Again I drank it last month and this month (when I got my BFP). It seems to change the consistency of my period, makes my lining "healthier". I had less days of spotting before my period last month and when it did come it was more red, less brown.
With DS, I had no symptoms before getting a BFP. This time I had spotting 5dpo-7dpo. I had dizzy spells 7dpo-8dpo which was so very strange, I told my husband this had to mean something. But I got BFN's 7dpo, 8dpo, and 9dpo. At 9dpo I had absolutlely no symptoms and convinced I was out again. I am a poas addict so of course I tested on 10dpo anyway with my supply of dollar store tests. I stared at it for 5 mins, BFN. Went to take a shower. Looked at it again when I got out. The faintest of faint lines showed up! Showed DH and he agreed there was a line! Over the next few days I continued to test with dollar store tests and the lines keep getting darker (even the dark lines took a while to show up). Also confirmed with a digital at 11 dpo.
For those of you that stare at a test well beyond the time frame or go back to check the test later. You are not crazy! Those dollar store tests sure seem to take longer to show positive than they did when I had DS two years ago. Good luck to you all!
