Delighted to be telling my story as it's been a strange 8 months with my cycles since stopping breast feeding my first bundle of joy for 6mnths. I was having very long, irregular cycles (37-43days) but what worried me the most was that every cycle I spotted from 3-5dpo and then I would have a small bleed 6-9dpo and them my period would arrive at 12days. During my July cycle I missed a period all together so I don't think I ovulated however i had lots of random spotting! Even so I still got a BFP the next cycle which was the shortest one yet at 34 days. It's a miracle as I conceived with my first baby also after missing a period the previous cycle!
Whilst trying to conceive the 2nd baby I had been for blood tests and a gynae scan but everything came back normal but I thought something was wrong with my body because of the spotting & bleeds. I just want to give hope to those of you out there who have long cycles, have PCOS and maybe spot continuously after ovulation....I thought there was something wrong with my body. It must have been my hormones trying to balance back out since my first baby and also the breast feeding.
These we're my symptoms:
O - negative ovulation strip in the morning but EW mucus during the day so BD in the afternoon anyway just in case. Positive ovulation test that evening. Cervix high, soft & open & cramps on right side
1dpo - mucus EW, very bloated (I always am the day after ovulation), bad cramps, thirsty, windy, mild headache & loss of appetite
2-3dpo - mucus dry, cramps, hot flashes, thirsty and windy
4dpo - pink/brown spotting, diarrhea, hot flashes, mild cramps (thought I was out again because of spotting!)
5dpo - bleed after sex in the morning (very upset), pink spotting in afternoon, hungry, mild cramps
6dpo - bleed with mucus, period like cramps, hot flashes, a few dizzy spells when standing up, hungry
7dpo - Dark brown mucus & some pink when wiped, mild cramps/pressure, windy, hot flashes, face glowing, very tired, dizzy spells when standing up, hungry, BFN
8dpo - pink/brown spotting, dress feels tight, bloated, down in the dumps, mild cramps, BFN
9dpo - pink/brown spotting, windy, cramps, mild back ache, tired & hungry, bubbles in tummy, BFN
10dpo - pink/brown spotting, diarrhea, mild back ache, hot flashes
11dpo - pink/brown spotting, light bleed when wiped (thought period is on its way!), diarrhea, belly ache, bloated, mild cramps, hot flashes
12dpo - brown spotting, bad headache all day, hot flashes, cramps, veins appeared around my nipples, tired, windy
13dpo - small amount of brown spotting other than that dry, cramps, very itchy nostrils (strange!), hot flashes, hungry, nipples appear darker and more prominent, bubbles in tummy, faint BFP in the morning :o)
