So I have long hoped to be writing my own BFP story down. I have read and been inspired by many over the months of trying, so I hope this inspires you too!
This was my first cycle using an OPK and it worked well. We BD'd on Easter and the next morning I had my first positive on the OPK. We did it again that evening and the next day. (I used preseed at least one of those times) That was on CD 14 and 15 (usual cycles are 28-31 days long.) On CD 22 I had a few drops of bright red blood when wiping, but other than that I had no symptoms. On CD 24 (Derby day) I woke up and decided to use my last Clear Blue digital with FMU. I kept telling myself that it was way too early to tell, but I decided that if it was negative it was probably too early, and if it was positive... fantastic! It took a while to come back, but eventually it did and said "PREGNANT". I of course, ran in to tell my hubby. I didn't notice any symptoms that day except extreme nausea after taking my multivitamin, but that happens often when I don't eat enough.
That night, I woke up (wide awake) at around 5 am, sweating. My hubby said I was a fireball all night long! Throughout the day Sunday I had heat flashes, and I took another Clear Blue digital (this time that indicated the weeks gestation) at around 2:00 having not had anything to drink for about 2 hours. It was again, pregnant 1-2 weeks.
Sunday night I continued my now daily trend of a 5 am wake up call. Each morning having to pee. Sometimes I can't tell if I'm nauseous or just super hungry in the am, so I was eating crackers for the first few mornings just in case.
I have had a few stomach aches since that day, drinking a lot of water due to the heat flashes (and the fact that it's been almost 90 each day this week.) Sometimes it feels like I'm cramping from the water (during walks) but that's unusual for me. Also, I love walking, I do it often and lately I've been struggling to walk as far as usual... very fatigued.
My boobs have become very sore over the last few days as well. These are my biggest symptoms.
Yesterday morning I had a fright because I started spotting (about 2 bright red drops of blood, twice when wiping) and I feared I was losing it. (Backstory, in February I got a faint positive on CD 29 and CD 30 using the PT where you have to analyze the darkness of the line and then spotted on CD30, 31 and all out period on CD32. This has been making me feel more nervous.)
I've been taking almost daily PTs but I've used different ones and I think that makes it harder (I'm much more at ease seeing "pregnant" than seeing a line and analyzing if it's lighter than it was yesterday.) Today I stopped into my OBGYN to have my blood drawn (this is not standard but I asked for it and they appeased me.) I won't get those results back until tomorrow though.
Sore boobs today, positive pregnancy test on HCG dipstick, and no spotting so I'm feeling fairly confident we get to keep this one!
No one is promised tomorrow, so my hubby and I have chosen to delight in each and every day that I get to call myself host to our littlest one!
