Our BFP is now a 9 month old walking, babbling mess making joy- and she was a loooong time coming.
I'm sharing my story for any IVFers to show that seriously, anything can happen. I'm 29, hubby 35. Unexplained infertility.
After 2 year ttc naturally and 1 heartbreaking early miscarriage at 5wks, 2 clomid, 2 iuis and we got it!
This will especially bring hope (hopefully) to those with very low betas and bleeding.
7 eggs retrieved, all fertilized but only one made it to blastocyst on day 5.
1 grade AB-blast transferred.
1dp5dt- Bloated and sore from egg retrieval - starting progesterone sups.
2-7dp5dt- Watery cm, soreness and bloating fading, boobs not sore, feel incredible not pregnant. No heartburn, no dizziness, nada.
8dp5dt- Cheat and take a HPT. After an eternity we got a squinter. I was not that hopeful bc at 8dp5dt I thought line should be darker.
Start spotting that afternoon. And that's when I 'checked out' and convinced myself it didn't work.
9-12dp5dt- Bleeding escalates to a full blown period. HOWEVER bc I am crazy, I keep taking FRER every two days and the lines are getting darker. Baffled.
12dp5dt-1st beta is 57. I am bleeding with clots (sorry, gross I know). NO pg symptoms just cramps along with bleeding.
14dp5dt-2nd beta is 138. This is sooo low for almost 5 weeks pregnant. Bleeding is slowing down but DO not feel pregnant. No heartburn, brown watery cm, boobs not sore... you get the picture.
I had betas every 2 days and though they always doubled, they were low. That combined with the bleeding made doctor think ectopic, so I was to have a 6 week viability ultrasound.
And there it was- a heart beat, perfect gestational sac, everything looked as it should for how far along I was.
After that, PG symptoms came i would say around 7 weeks pregnant.
And 1 day after her due date, our awesome little girl was born, completely healthy and fiesty.
So IVF ladies, sometimes even when the ugly red fat lady sings, it still ain't over. Trust the betas.
Good luck to all.
